Friends of the Moose-Wilson Corridor & the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance Join Forces To Protect the Moose-Wilson Corridor in Grand Teton National Park
The Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance (JHCA) and Friends of the Moose-Wilson Corridor share a commitment to protecting the 10,000-acre Moose-Wilson Corridor in Grand Teton National Park. The corridor provides vital habitat for grizzly bears, moose, elk, raptors, songbirds, and other wildlife. It also contains nationally significant Indigenous archaeological sites that document thousands of years of human presence and use.
Friends of the Moose-Wilson Corridor is a local all-volunteer group formed in 2015 to participate in the National Park Service’s environmental review of the corridor. The group disbanded after the agency issued its Record of Decision in September 2016.
In spring 2026, the Department of the Interior directed the National Park Service to construct a separate, 7.1-mile paved pathway through the corridor. The pathway had been rejected in the 2016 decision because of its impacts on corridor resources. Contrary to normal NPS procedures, there was no supplemental EIS opened to evaluate this top-down decision or any meaningful public involvement.
Friends of the Moose-Wilson Corridor has since reorganized to oppose the pathway and protect the corridor’s wildlife habitat and archaeological sites.
JHCA, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 83-0245647), has established a restricted fund for work to protect the Moose-Wilson Corridor. Under an agreement with Friends of the Moose-Wilson Corridor, JHCA will receive donations designated for the collaborative efforts of the groups.
Donate via the JHCA website and specify on donation form that your gift is for protection of the Moose-Wilson Corridor.
Checks can also be mailed and specify donation is for protection of the Moose-Wilson Corridor.
